The track pant is seen as a staple in an activewear wardrobe. Whether it’s trips to-and-from the gym, or for training itself, they offer the versatility to transition into a number of different situations. With the Wolf, we set out to create a trouser which combined comfort, functionality, whilst maintaining the Torsa aesthetic. Although simple on the surface, it follows our core design principles of balancing simplicity and complexity, through fabric, trims and detailing.

Fabric

We’ve spoken about out affinity for Japanese design countless times. Their commitment to quality and detail is unmatched, and this doesn’t stop when it comes to creating fabric. For the Wolf training trouser, our search was centred around comfort and functionality. Comfort coming in the form of fabric hand-feel, but also stretch and movement within the fabric. Working with renowned Japanese fabric mill Toyota Gelanots, we worked together to find a fabric that offered all round comfort and versatility.

After multiple design meetings and further testing, we settled on a mid-weight 4-way stretch fabric which had a lovely premium hand feel and just the right amount of stretch for working out. In keeping with our design principle ‘Shibui,’ the fabric has a subtle herringbone texture on the surface which can only be seen on close inspection.

The fabric offers a good amount of breathability, but we wanted it to be versatile in changing conditions. With that in mind, we added a DWR treatment to the shell of the fabric. DWR, or durable water repellent, is a coating added to the fabric which makes water bead up by increasing the angle of contact between the fabric and the moisture. Essentially like water off a ducks back.

This treatment allows you to tackle outdoor workouts in light rain and wind.

DWR Style

Tapered in the leg, the Wolf silhouette has been designed to support its purpose. The slightly cropped length was chosen to eliminate excess fabric when tackling workouts or runs. The minimal aesthetic lends itself to transition, allowing you to seamlessly move from gym training to everyday comfort.

Details and Trims

Rounding out the Wolf, we featured a number of intricate details and trims that help elevate the style. Firstly, our signature T stitch on the revere is clear to see. The mark of an athlete, the T is our brand mark, which can be seen in its various iterations across all of our styles.

We’ve also added Framis™ bonded tape at the hem. This stretch Italian tape not only removes stitching from the hem, it helps ensure the bottom of the trouser maintains its shape over time. We’ve also added a secret zip pocket within the side pocket, an ideal place to store your essentials when training. Finally, the Wolf is complemented by Japanese drawcords in signature lilac, a nod to our identity.
