As our design team sat down to discuss how we could create the perfect training pant, minds first turned toward which mill we trusted to supply the fabric. Toyota Gelanots—renowned as the most innovative textile mill in Japan, it sprung to the forefront of our thinking.

Gelanots has built its reputation on the unshakable reliability of its functionality. Specializing in fabrics and treatments with moisture management and breathability, fabrics are woven and dyed in the heart of Japan.

Our main objective for the Wolf was developing a piece that was fit for purpose and had the functionality to transition across a range of different scenarios.

When it came to fabric, our main criteria were; moisture management, a good level of stretch, and comfort. After working with Gelanots, we went into testing with a number of fabrics that fit those criteria. Following testing, we settled on a 4-way stretch fabric that offered a great level of moisture management, comfort, and range of movement. The fabric ticked all the boxes, but as a team, we appreciated the changing conditions which athletes can face day-to-day.

We wanted a training pant that could perform just as effectively outside the gym as it can inside. With that thought, we worked with Gelanots to apply a DWR-C6 treatment to the shell. DWR, which stands for Durable Water Repellent, is a treatment that can be applied to the exterior of the garment which prevents it from being saturated with water. DWR forces the water to bead up and roll off the surface of the garment, helping keep the garment, and the athlete, dry.

Looking at ways to elevate the Wolf, without adding unnecessary bulk, we first explored storage options. As a team, we understood that keeping your phone safe when training was important for peace of mind. Instead of adding zippers to the external side pockets, we intuitively built a pocket within a pocket. This secret pocket, which is featured on the right-hand side, is secured with a small but accessible zipper puller. The pocket has been carefully constructed to fit your phone and made of breathable, sweat-resistant mesh fabric. A further back zip pocket has been added for extra storage and secured with a YKK lockdown zipper to prevent any distractions.

Final touches include no-sew bonded hems using Framis™ technology for a clean finish and signature T-panel detailing on the reverse.
